OutWrd is a world where scripts are put to work and storytelling comes to life through immersive audio drama. Built by screenwriters, OutWrd takes scripts that might otherwise sit unread and transforms them into cinematic audio experiences that can be listened to, shared, and proven in the real world. Whether you are a listener discovering bold new stories or a writer looking to put your script to work, OutWrd exists to bridge the gap between the page and the industry, turning scripts into living, working stories through a true cinema of the mind experience.

Yes. OutWrd accepts scripts through a structured evaluation and production pipeline rather than open unsolicited submissions. Visit our For Writers page for more information. All projects are professionally assessed for story strength and suitability for OutWrd, with writers receiving clear, actionable feedback. Scripts that show strong potential may be invited into production, where they are developed into cinematic audio dramas, released on the platform and credited on IMDb. This process allows scripts to move beyond the page, be heard by real audiences, and function as active, working IP for emerging writers.

OutWrd+ is our premium membership for listeners who want more. While our free tier gives you access to a selection of stories, OutWrd+ unlocks everything: premium stories like Treasure Island and Broderick: Murder on the Amalfi Coast, ad-free listening and exclusive interviews.

No. All of our stories are written and performed by real people. We believe in the power of human creativity, emotion, and lived experience - things AI simply can’t replicate. That said, we occasionally use AI-generated voice for non-story elements like end credits or the final line of a trailer, where it's clearly marked and never used to replace creative work. Real stories, real voices - always.

Audio drama has deep roots in radio, theatre, and literature. Just look at Orson Welles' iconic 1938 broadcast of The War of the Worlds! It's come to be known as 'theatre of the mind'. However, today’s audiences often seek the visual and cinematic experiences that screen storytelling offers, which can leave traditional audio drama feeling somewhat lacking. At OutWrd, we've merged the best elements of screen storytelling with the audio drama format to create an engaging experience that feels like a blend between watching a movie and listening to an audiobook. It’s easy to follow, perfect for people on the go, and truly cinema of the mind. It's the audio drama, redefined.
